3G's - Go Get Good

I'm home and the Creative Experience seminar is now over. Thank you to all the students who signed up for the photo seminar across the country. I am looking forward to seeing your submission's on our secret project. Remember all you've learned during the seminar and keep our subject in mind as you create your images. Thank you all again!

I love photography and having the opportunity to share my knowledge, but the best part is watching people grow in front of your eyes. At the end of the Dallas seminar all the students were taking photographs of each other before we said goodbye. One of the students, who flew in from Canada, told me he was a photographer but stopped a few years ago and told me he felt like "I'm not good enough anymore". He said he expressed this to his young daughter and she said in reply, "well Daddy, then go get good enough." He thanked me and I told him to thank his daughter for giving me the 3G's.

Don't Waste Your Time going to Photo Seminar!

Don't waste your time going to photo seminars unless you want to be successful. The best way to excel in any field can be learned in one of three ways, the books you read, the places you go and the people you meet. Seminars are a great way to improve your knowledge because you're using two of the three ways and sometimes all three.

I'm sad to host the last of my seminar's this coming Monday in Dallas, Texas, but happy to meet new people who are excited and serious about photography. Taking a seminar means your serious about your career and longevity in your business and it's what I did when I first started and still do from time to time.

Why should you come to this seminar or any seminar? To learn from working professional who are in the field shooting the images you see every day. Teaching what I've learned makes me feel great but my joy comes from shooting. For this reason I won't be doing any more seminars for a while. I willl look for other ways to give back and share my knowledge so stay tuned. In the meantime I hope to see you this Monday in Dallas!

Turning Idea's into Assets

How often do you get an idea and fail to follow through on it? I often have idea's for photo stories that are inspired by my life in some form. The inspiration may come through an idea or movie or book, but once the visual comes to mind I must act on it.

Many of my idea's have led to great things in my photo career. I've recently shot several stories based off different things that have happened in my life. When you produce images that are inspired by your life and show those images people feel your passion and hire you to do what you love.

To learn more about this and how to turn your idea's into assets and more come to my seminar in Dallas, Texas this month.
